Started the activity Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Italy, where the first sprint race of the 2022 season of Formula 1so from this Friday the qualifying day was held, one that was marked by rain and by a host of accidents that interrupted the session for more than 40 minutes.

The one who suffered enormously from these circumstances was the Mexican pilot Sergio Perez, who arrived with high expectations due to his excellent performance in the last two classifications; however, Guadalajara was one of the most affected by the weather, since during its best times, the shocks of Carlos Sainz Y Kevin Magnussen caused him to abort his fast lap.

As if that were not enough, in his last attempt to improve his stopwatch, a new clash of lando norris again ruined the return of Czech Perez and he did not have time to do another one, so he stayed in seventh place with a mark of 1:29.808, almost two seconds away from his teammate Max Verstappen.

Due to this situation, Czech Perez confirmed his bad day qualitybecause his requirement and that of the team is to keep up with or above his teammate and be at the top of the grid, for which he described the classification as a “disaster” for various reasons.

“A disaster the qualification. It was important to put temperature at the beginning of the qualification and we were waiting almost 2 minutes at the end of the pit lane and then the same on the last try. With the red flags I couldn’t warm up the tires,” said the Mexican according to Fox Sports.

As well as the red flags, Sergio hinted that the day had generally been negative, but hopefully he would recover for the rest of the weekend, as the car had a high pace.

A disappointing day but just the start of the weekend. It just didn’t seem to work for me today. Nevertheless, I am satisfied with the pace of the carI hope to progress during the sprint and get a good starting position for Sunday’s race”, said the Mexican in statements collected by @PrimeF1_.
