A Frenchman is seeking to set a new world record for the most bungee jumps in a 24-hour period.
Francois-Marie Dibon, 44, traveled to Scotland for his attempt to break the record, currently held by Mike Heard, who completed 430 bungee jumps in one day over Auckland Harbor Bridge in May 2017. Dibon is expected to make the last of the jumps on Wednesday morning.
Dibon, who grew up in Paris and works as an actuary in Sweden, is making his attempt at Garry Bridge, near the Perthshire village of Killiecrankie, and will be assisted by the Highland Fling Bungee team.
On his decision to make the attempt in Scotland, Dibon said he loved the country and that the “French people love the Scottish people.”
“I discovered this amazing place in Pitlochry and an amazing team over five years ago, and felt, wow, this is so much fun and cool,”explained
“I’m working with a great team, a great location and amazing scenery with the Killiecrankie Woods, with the mountains all around and the Gary River below,” he added.

Dibon said he used to be afraid of heights and used to have a hard time diving into a pool.but that bungee jumping has become “a good cure”, and that now he is not afraid to jump because he is tied to a bungee cord, which he considers very safe.
“I’m not nervous at all because we’ve been preparing a lot. I have an amazing team around me. I am very well and very happy and enjoying the present moment”he claimed.
Dibon said he would start the record attempt with a jump and then “see how it goes afterwards.”

“So I have no goal. We’ll see how it goes.” said.
The Highland Fling Bungee team said it has made technical adjustments to its winch recovery system to accommodate its world record attempt.
“When François jumped with us for the first time, he fell in love with the place. It’s great to be a part of this, with him, and the team will have him on their resume forever. Hopefully, we are celebrating success.” said Laurie Thomas, operations manager.
