A former student who claims he had sex with his PE teacher while intoxicated on his prom night said that “I felt sorry” because I was being investigated.
The student, known only as Student A, presented evidence related to a list of allegations against the teacher.Melissa Tweedie on the night of her school prom in June 2017.
The former physical education teacher at Gleniffer High School in Paisley, Scotland, who was 23 at the time, he danced inappropriately with the students before having sex with the student, who was then 18 years old.
He is alleged to have partyed with students at the SWG3 nightclub in Glasgow and then entered a Premier Hotel with them in June 2017, reported Glasgow Live.
The student told the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) today that He “felt” that Miss Tweedie, now 27, was being investigated for the event.
In a statement, he admitted to kissing Miss Tweedie in one room and then having sex with her in another.
The student revealed that he had consumed about three or four pints, a bottle of wine, some spirits, rum and short drinks. And he claimed that Miss Tweedie, who now lives in Dubai and works as a yoga teacher, he spent the night in the room before leaving around 8 am the next day.
“We had no deal before prom. There were no relationships before. Miss Tweedie was sitting at our table. She was not drinking at the table, I was”, Student A said at the GTCS hearing.
After the prom, the students had booked rooms at a hotel that was within walking distance of the nightclub.
“I didn’t invite Miss Tweedie to the hotel. I don’t know how she got there.” Student A said.
He added that he entered a hotel room where his teacher was with nine students, there he began to talk and drink with his teacher.
Then they kissed, “nobody started it”, and went down to the young man’s room.
“BWe got together and had sex in my room. She stayed the night and we both left at eight.”Held.
The young man affirms that he does not consider that what happened was a school event and that he regrets that his teacher is being investigated.
“I had already handed in my exit form. In my opinion, it was not a student event. This could have happened on a night out.” concluded.
For his part, the deputy principal of the school, also in hearing, said that Miss Tweedie “she was very reluctant to take the advice and come with us” after the prom and added: “We couldn’t get her to come with us, so we had to let her go.”
Heather Prentice, assistant principal at Gleniffer High School, also said she had “concerns” about the teacher’s attire “since the beginning of the dance.”
She said she was dressed as if she were going out for the night, in a “pretty loose, short, low-cut” dress, and spent the night dancing with male students.
The teacher, who is under investigation for the events of that night, was acquitted of any criminal offence, but faces being removed from the register by the General Teaching Council of Scotland (GTCS) following the accusations, if found guilty of breaches of the ethics of the profession, which would prevent her from working as a teacher in that country.
