Amazon Mexico already allows small payments to pay little

Amazon Mexico will now allow you to buy almost any item, regardless of the price, at comfortable small payments, but this will only apply to some users

Amazon wants to compete stronger in Mexico against stores that offer small payments on any type of merchandise and now it will offer a financing system for some cardholders, regardless of the cost of the product.

The famous phrase “small payments to pay little” is a strategy that Amazon Mexico will implement.

Previously, the American company already offered products to Months without Interest in qualified purchases greater than two thousand 500 pesos in selected products. The financing time varied depending on the bank card that was used, reaching up to 24 months in special sales such as El Buen Fin, Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Now this will change because the amount of purchase will not matter, but it will not be for all users of the platform.

American Express and Nu Banco customers may purchase any product for up to 12 months with fixed interest. The extra rate on the cost of the item will be determined depending on the term “3, 6, 9 or up to 12 months financed”. The longer the payment time will be proportional to the interest rate. These financed plans do not include the cost of shipping, which should be taken into consideration if you are not an Amazon Prime user. The cost of the subscription is 99 pesos per month. Amazon has not reported if or when more banks will enter this dynamic. The company’s objective is to offer other alternatives to the strategies of direct competitors such as Mercado Libre, which offers financing without a card through Mercado Pago.
