The head of US diplomacy, Anthony Blinkendenounced this Monday that Iran is supplying Russia with drones “with which innocent people die” in Ukraineat a conference in Israel as part of his Middle East tour.

Together with the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, he stressed that they agree that Iran’s regime “must never have a nuclear weapon.”

“One of the most effective ways to keep Israel safe is to increase ties in the region,” he said, highlighting the Abraham Accords with which the country normalized relations with Arab countries.

In addition, he again expressed his condolences for the seven Israelis recently killed in a terrorist attack, and called for “urgent steps” to restore calm. “Taking an innocent life in an act of terrorism is always a heinous crime, but attacking people outside their place of worship is particularly shocking,” he had previously noted, referring to an attack on Friday that killed seven people, many of which came out of a Jerusalem synagogue.

“It is important that the government and the people know that the US commitment to Israel’s security remains unwavering,” he said.
