At least one hundred people died and another 150 were injured by a fire during a wedding in a ballroom in Hamdaniya, a small town in the north of Iraqaccording to state media citing health sources.
The medical services of the province of Nineveh “listed 100 dead and more than 150 injured in the fire in a wedding hall in Hamdaniya“, noted the official Iraqi press agency INA, clarifying that it was a “preliminary” balance. The fire devastated a large assembly hall after it was ignited fireworks during the celebrationsaid the local civil defense, according to state media.
