Israel begins operation “Iron Swords” against Hamas in Gaza

Egypt warned of serious consequences of escalation between Palestine and Israel
Egypt, key mediator between Palestine and Israelwarned today of “the serious consequences” of the new escalation between the Palestinians and Israel, and urged that the two sides exercise “maximum moderation”, and to the international actors who “intervene immediately”.
“Egypt asks to exercise maximum restraint, avoid exposing civilians to greater risks and warns of the serious consequences of the escalation of violence, which would negatively affect the future of truce efforts,” said the Egyptian Foreign Affairs note.
He also urged that “international actors involved in supporting efforts to restart the peace process to intervene immediately to stop the ongoing escalation.”
He also called “Israel to stop attacks and provocative actions against the Palestinian people and to adhere to the norms of international humanitarian law with respect to the responsibilities of the occupying State.”

The Italian Government condemns the terror and violence of Hamas against Israel
Italy condemned this Saturday “terror and violence against innocent civilians” and supported “Israel’s right to defend itself,” after the Israeli Army declared this morning the state of war after a strong attack from Gaza for which the Hamas terrorist group.
“The Italian Government is closely following the brutal attack that is taking place in Israel. “It condemns in the strongest terms the ongoing terror and violence against innocent civilians,” the Executive Presidency said in a statement.
“Terror will never prevail. We support Israel’s right to defend itself”he added.
Israel’s declaration of a state of war comes after the combined attack from Gaza, with the launching of rockets and the infiltration of Palestinian militiamen into Israeli territory.
