Assistants to the US President Joe Bidenthey discovered at least one more batch of classified documents in a location other than the office he used after serving as vice president, reported NBCNews on Wednesday, citing an unnamed source.
Biden aides have been searching for additional classified materials that could be elsewhere after a set of classified documents was found in November in an office in Washington, according to NBCNews.
The report said the classification level, number and precise location of the additional documents were not immediately clear. He also said it was unclear when the additional documents were discovered and whether the search for any other classified material Biden may have from his time as vice president is complete.
The report of NBCNews It comes two days after a White House lawyer said classified documents were discovered in November by the president’s lawyers at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement, that Biden founded after his time as vice president of Barack Obama (2009-2017).
Biden’s lawyers discovered fewer than a dozen classified records inside the think tank’s office and informed the US National Archives of their discovery, handed over the materials and said they were cooperating with the Archives and the Justice Department. Biden said Tuesday that he and his team were fully cooperating with a review of what happened.
“I don’t know what the documents contain, my lawyers have not suggested that I ask what the documents were about. They have handed over the boxes to the archives and we are fully cooperating with the review, ”he declared after the North American Leaders Summit in Mexico City.

Biden assured that he learned of the existence of those documents through his lawyers, so he was “surprised to learn that there were government records taken to that place, to that office.”
“They found some documents in a box, in a cabinet or in a closet and when they found it they realized that there were several secret documents in that box, they did what they should have done, they called the archives immediately, they handed the documents over to the (National) Archives,” he said.
The US president hoped that the Justice Department’s review “will end soon.”
“People know that I’m serious about secret material.”, he sentenced.
The discovery of the documents has confronted Democrats and Republicans in Congress.
The Democrats have accused the Republicans of “being only interested in opposing the president”, since when the FBI searched the residence of former President Donald Trump (2017-2021) in Mar-a-Lago (Florida) last August “they subtracted importance” to the matter.
While the United States Lower House, under the leadership of the Republicans, approved this Tuesday to create a committee to investigate the Department of Justice and the FBI for the alleged partisan use of government agencies by Biden.
According to The Washington Postwhich cites anonymous sources, the FBI is also involved in the investigation, which concerns about ten documents found in the office, which Biden used regularly between 2017 and the launch of his presidential campaign in 2020.
The case, although according to the US media bears few similarities, is reminiscent of Trump’s and what happened in Mar-a-Lago, although on that occasion the intervention of the Department of Justice and the FBI was necessary to recover the papers.
