This new incursion by China comes as Beijing prepares a possible blockade or direct attack on Taiwan, which has aroused great concern among the military leaders of USATaipei’s main ally.

In a memo last month, the general of the US Air Force Mike Minihan instructed his officers to be prepared for a conflict between the United States and China in the year 2025.

China has sent Warshipsbombers, fighters and support aircraft into the airspace near Taiwan on an almost daily basis, hoping to wear down the island’s limited defense resources and undermine support for the pro-independence president. Tsai Ing-wen.

Chinese fighters have also faced us military aircraft and from allied countries in the international airspace of the South and East China Seas, which Beijing has called dangerous and threatening maneuvers.

The escalation of tensions in the region began with the trip to the island of the then Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Nancy Pelosiin August of last year.

China has repeatedly threatened to take retaliation against countries seeking closer ties with Taiwan, but their attempts to intimidation have provoked a violent reaction in Europe, Japan, United States and other nations.

Taiwan has had an independent government since 1949, but China considers the territory under its sovereignty. The basic policy of the regime Xi Jinping with respect to Taiwan it has so far been that of a peaceful reunification under the principle of “one country, two systems”.

Taipei will hold presidential elections next year, in contrast to China’s system of full control by the president and party general secretary, Xi Jinpingwhich has removed term limits to become life leader.

On January 13, seven aircraft and three Chinese military ships raided areas around taiwanas reported at the time by the Ministry of Defence of the island.

The portfolio notified on the social network Twitter that two of the Chinese planes crossed the median line of the Strait of Formosaan unofficial border tacitly respected by Taipei and Beijing in recent decades, but which has been crossed in recent months by chinese forces through these types of breaches.

A su-30 fighter and a reconnaissance aircraft BZK-005 of the Chinese Army were the airplanes that exceeded the median line.
