In that sense, he made a controversial statement about the performance of the Mexican Sergio Perez and the dutch Max Verstaeppeas he implied that there is an obvious difference between the two.

During an interview with the media Sky Sportsthe director of Red Bull Racing stressed that the difference between the level of Czech Pérez and Max Verstappen “it is what it is”. Similarly, he denied that this gap has its origin in the personalized configuration that the two drivers’ vehicles have had and that, according to some versions, they would have favored the star in his search for the World Drivers’ Championship.

“The difference (with Max Verstappen) is what it is. In any case, it was enough for Sergio Pérez to obtain fourth position. Certainly the difference is not on the floor, but you have to consider that he will start from 13th position on the grid and he can have a good race from there”, he declared before the media.
