- Ed Maverick tried to take his own life after being harassed on social media
The harassment and criticism of Yahritza and Su Esencia after their foolish comments against Mexico has made them become almost repudiated within the country, emphasizing the relevance of social networks today.
One of the most notorious cases of cyberbullying was suffered by the Mexican singer-songwriter Ed Maverick, who in 2019 was bombarded with aggressive comments and even death threats that made him think of suicide.
It was through his X account (formerly Twitter) that the creator of topics such as Fuentes de Ortíz and Del Río shared a few words about the topic of Yahritza y Su Esencia.
After giving his opinion, Maverick recalled those dark years in which he faced attacks from social networks and confessed that he had tried to kill himself. In addition, he mentioned that all these attacks tend to have a great impact on young people.
“It takes me back to when they harassed me so much that I tried to kill myself, obviously you didn’t know and x, you don’t have to, but remember that these suck… they are not things that slip on 18-25-year-old faces, your word matters to us, that’s why we are affected by what they think of us, “he wrote.
