However, Ellen Pompeo has decided that it is time to end her participation in Grey’s Anatomy to take a new path in her career. Through a statement from ABC (studio behind the series) she confirmed that season 19 will be the last of the actress.

After more than 400 episodes as the protagonist, the participation of the actress will be less in the new installment of the series.

According to Deadline, she will only appear in eight episodes, although she will continue to narrate each episode and plans to appear as a guest in others, in addition to retaining her place as producer.

In the series, Meredith Gray will leave Seattle Grace Hospital to continue her professional career in Boston, something that the character shares with her interpreter, because after leaving Grey’s Anatomy, Ellen Pompeo will star in a new horror miniseries for the Hulu platform.

The last episode in which fans will be able to see Pompeo is entitled I’ll Follow the Sun and will air on February 23 in the United States.
