Eugenio Derbez mocks the Mexican team for their elimination in Qatar

Eugenio Derbez was part of the “Televisa Deportes” project, a concept that in the 2000s became a reference for its coverage of World Cups and the Olympic Games.

As part of that project, Derbez attended several of those sporting events to perform comedy routines.

Now that the Mexican team failed to be eliminated from the 2022 Qatar World Cup after losing to Argentina, winning with Arabia and drawing with Poland, Derbez recycled a couple of those routines and updated them.

One of them is from the Crazy Monk, that character who told the true story behind some legends. In the routine that Derbez updated and shared on his networks, the Lonje Moco appears saying: “I have it very present, the crowd shouting ‘yes you can, yes you can’.”

And there he interspersed scenes from the Lusail stadium with Mexican fans during the match against Arabia.

Then the Lonje Moco appears again: “It was horrible, it was horrible… because in the end it was: ‘it couldn’t, it couldn’t!'”.

And he added scenes from the end of that match, in which Mexico won but was eliminated on goal difference.

In another routine that he resumed, Derbez appears with his character Marilyn Menson accompanied by Paquita la del Barrio, who says: “Damn men, we’re worth it again, always the same with the World Cup team.”

And then he sings: “Filthy rat, creeping animal, scum of life you already lost again.”
