France and Germany They are two of the many countries that, apparently, host in their territories alleged stations used by Chinese regime security forces to monitor and harass dissidents. Both are now investigating these Beijing operations, after the FBI detained in New York on Monday two Chinese nationals accused of operating an “illegal overseas police station” on behalf of the Ministry of Public Security of the Asian giant.

According to information from Newsweekthere is more of 50 countries where these stations have been installed.

France, through its Minister of the Interior, Gerald Darmaninsaid that “under no circumstances will it tolerate attacks on its sovereignty,” according to Newsweek.

“We intend to vigorously combat foreign influences on our soil and we will not allow international rules providing for the admission of these citizens to undermine our good relations with certain nations, be it China or any other country,” he added.

Darmanin declared to Newsweek that the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces (DGSI) of France pays “close attention to the revelations” made by the NGO Safeguard Defenders, which reported on two service centers managed by the Public Security Offices of Wenzhou and Qingtianin China, and two contact points managed by the Fuzhou Public Security Bureau, in Paris.

“They are working on this matter before the publication of these revelations,” said the minister, while requesting that the DGSI intensify the investigation.

“More than four years ago, in the face of all the countries that have extremely aggressive counterinfluence operations in France, the president [Emmanuel] Macron requested that the DGSI receive additional support,” he told Newsweek.

For its part, Germany is also investigating the operations of the Chinese regime on its territory.

A spokesman for the Federal Ministry of the Interior and the German Community (BMI) told Newsweek that “the so-called ‘overseas Chinese police stations’ in Germany they tend to organize in a personal and mobile way and that no permanent offices have been established”.

“The Chinese embassy was asked to immediately stop activities outside the Vienna Conventions on Diplomatic and Consular Relations and to close existing ‘overseas Chinese police stations’ in Germany,” it said.

On Monday, two men were arrested on charges of helping to establish an outpost of the chinese secret police in New York City and more than three dozen officers from China’s national police force have been charged with using social media to harass dissidents within the United Statesreported the US Department of Justice.

The cases are part of a series of Justice Department prosecutions in recent years aimed at stopping the Chinese regime’s attempts to locate pro-democracy activists and others in the United States who are outspoken critics of Beijing’s policies.

Liu Jianwang, 61, and Chen Jinping, 59, face conspiracy charges for act as agents of the Chinese regime failure to inform US authorities and obstruction of justice, prosecutors said.

The arrests and indictments point to “transnational crackdown plans targeting members of the Chinese diaspora community in New York and elsewhere in the United States,” said Brooklyn US Attorney Breon Peace.

“This indictment reveals the Chinese government’s flagrant violation of our nation’s sovereignty by establishing a secret police station in downtown New York City,” it said in a statement. Peace.
