The French government undertook to provide boats, buses and railway rails to Ukrainewhose infrastructure transport was badly damaged by the Russian invasion.
The Delegate Minister of Transport, Clement Beaunewhich concluded a four-day visit to Ukraine on Sunday, called on French companies, “from now on”, to “collaborate, mainly in the transport sector”.
According to the French Ministry of Ecological Transition, “the latest assessments estimate the cost of rebuilding Ukraine at 383 billion euros”, including 83,000 million just for transport infrastructure.
Other estimates, from World Bank, United Nations, European Commission and Ukraine determined that the country will need about 411,000 million dollars for its recovery and reconstruction. A sum that will probably continue to increase as long as the conflict continues.
Beaune “took the initiative of bringing together on his return to France the leaders of major French companies of the transport sector to speed up their mobilization around Ukraine,” the ministry added in a statement.

France committed to “donate boats” and contribute “technical expertise” of the operator of the ports of the Seine river, “with the aim of increasing the cereal exports.
It will also send “additional buses to Ukraine to secure school transportation, in addition to the thirty vehicles already delivered,” according to the statement. It will also host 10 Ukrainian air traffic controllers to prepare the reopening of the Ukrainian sky,” the ministry said.
Paris pledged to “supply 20,000 tons of rails to Ukraineto rebuild several hundred kilometers of railways” ruined by fighting and bombing, and “an additional ten 1.5-ton electric generators.”
Funds for energy infrastructure
The French announcement comes just days after the world Bank said that it will allocate 200 million dollars to repair the energy infrastructure from Ukraine.
The aggression of the Russian regime damaged more than 50% of energy infrastructure Ukraine between the autumn and winter months, the global lender said.

The funds will be delivered by the Trust Fund for Relief, Recovery, Reconstruction and Reform of Ukraine (URTF) with the goal of offering up to an additional $300 million from partners “as the project grows in scope,” the bank said.
The project will focus on emergency repairs to electricity and heating infrastructure.
“Energy infrastructure has suffered damages of 11,000 million dollars last year and it is one of the areas where Ukraine needs the most urgent help,” said World Bank Managing Director of Operations Anna Bjerde.
He World Bank has mobilized more than 23,000 million dollars for Ukraine since the Russian invasion began in February last year, of which it has disbursed 20,000 million to date.
Likewise, the IMF announced on March 21 the approval of an aid package for $15.6 billion for Ukraine, which constitutes a small part of a comprehensive aid package of 115,000 million dollars made up of debt relief, grants and loans from multilateral and bilateral institutions.
“By rebuilding what has been left in ruins, we defeat the target of terror, we return to a normal life”, then expressed the Ukrainian president Volodimir Zelensky.
He also reiterated his request that Russian assets be allocated to the reconstruction of Ukraine.
