Guitar recital at the House of Culture of San Sebastián

The Secretary of Culture of San Luis Potosí invites the general public to the Guitar Recital that, within the Holy Week program in San Luis Potosí, will be offered by the guitarist Alfonso Felipe Hernández, on Tuesday, April 12 at 6:00 p.m. the House of Culture of the San Sebastián neighborhood, located in front of the Jardín Lerdo de Tejada and for people who cannot attend in person, will be broadcast via Facebook Live from the House of Culture of the San Sebastián neighborhood. Free entry with limited space.

In this recital, guitarist Alfonso Felipe Hernández will play Aires del son by Gerardo Taméz; Prelude, Fugue and Allegro, by Johann Sebastian Bach: and Sonata No. III, by Manuel M. Ponce.

Alfonso Felipe Hernández, a guitarist from Tamazunchale, grew up in a folkloric environment where he learned to love his Huastecan roots.

He began his taste for musical discipline studying classical guitar with the teacher Marco Antonio Correa Salinas. He later studied a Bachelor of Instruments at the State School of Music of San Luis Potosí with maestro José Antonio Delgado González and later with maestro Jesús Omar Gutiérrez Yáñez.

He is currently a student of master Víctor Hugo Vital Matilde. He has taken interpretation and musical improvement courses with teachers such as Juan Reyes, Alfonso Moreno, Guillermo Gonzales Phillips, Eduardo Garrido (Spain), Manuel Espinas (Cuba), Simone Iannarelli (Italy).

In the capital of Potosí, his participation as a solo guitarist in concerts with the Camerata de San Luis Potosí and the Maestro José Luis Ortiz Díaz Infante Orchestra stands out, in which he performed the concerts in D Major and C Major by Antonio Vivaldi, as well as the concert in Sol Mayor for 2 mandolins by the same composer, and the Buenos Aires Suite by Máximo Diego Pujol.

His performances have been on various stages, the Theater of the Bicentennial University Cultural Center; the museums of the Viceroyalty, Francisco Cossío, Federico Silva, of the Railway, the Municipal Palace Cultural Center, the chapels of Loreto, and the Aránzazu of the Potosino Regional Museum; the churches of El Niño del Desagravio and San Juan de Dios, the parishes of San Miguelito, and San Pedro Apostol de Cerro de San Pedro; the Cathedral of San Luis Potosi.

He has also played in Tamazunchale, the Patio of the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes; in Uruapan and Janitzio, Michoacan.

He has also performed at guitar gathering events in Zacatecas and Aguascalientes, where he participated with guitar orchestras alongside students from the autonomous universities of those states and that of Mexico; he was also a member of the “Sensemayá” Guitar Orchestra directed by maestro Marco Antonio Correa Salinas.

With this type of action, the Government of the State of San Luis Potosí, through Secult, seeks to influence the formation of better citizens, men and women, capable of facing the dilemmas and challenges imposed by the construction of a more equitable development and, above all, all safe, with social peace.
