Harry Styles is hit in the eye with an object during a concert in Vienna

Harry Styles has become the latest victim of a worrying trend in which concertgoers throw objects at performers onstage.

The 29-year-old former One Direction member was performing in Vienna, Austria, on Saturday night when a flying object struck him directly in the eye.

The “As It Was” singer, who is on his hit Love On Tour, winced as he crouched down and covered his eyes with his hands.

Videos captured by fans showed Styles wearing a green sequined outfit and walking across the stage between songs when the unknown object was thrown at him.

The incident caused dozens of reactions on social networks, where Internet users condemned that this type of situation continues to occur at concerts.

Styles joins Bebe Rexha, Drake, Kelsea Ballerini and other artists who have been struck by objects onstage in recent weeks.

Last month, Rexha was hit in the eye with a mobile phone during her concert in New York, also, a few weeks ago, a fan threw her mother’s ashes onto the stage while Pink was performing.

“I don’t know how I feel about it,” the “So What” singer, 43, said, a look of surprise on her face.
