He washes his face with tap water and dies tragically.

Although many claim that using tap water is ‘safe’, it can be fatal if the water enters the nose

What we are going to tell you seems like a horror story taken from a movie, but unfortunately it did happen and it is worse than you can imagine.

It was recently revealed that in Charlotte, in the state of Florida (United States), a man died after washing his face with tap water.

According to the information revealed, the man was infected with a parasite called ‘NAEGLERIA FOWLERI’ better known as ‘THE BRAIN-EATING AMOEBA’.

The death occurred on February 20, according to Fox News. Although many claim that using tap water is ‘safe’, it can be fatal if the water enters the nose.

The United States has detected at least 160 confirmed or highly suspected cases of death by ‘brain-eating’ amoebas since 1962, when records began.

Of the total cases, 40 have been detected in Texas and 38 in Florida, according to data from the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

The survival rate is very low after infection, the mortality rate is around 97%.

This new fatal case raises concerns about the use of tap water. Two years ago there was a death from the same cause also in Charlotte County.
