A London Metropolitan (Met) Police officer, David Carrickhas pleaded guilty to committing 49 sexual assaultsbetween them 24 violationsagainst a dozen women over a period of more than 18 years.
In a statement released this Monday, the Met, or Scotland Yard, condemned the “appalling criminal acts” committed by man, 48 yearswho appeared today at a court hearing held before a London court.
Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Barbara Gray admitted in the note that the police should have detected the “pattern of abusive behavior” of the 48-year-old officer who used his position on the body to inflict fear on his victims.
Gray added that the Met “He missed opportunities to have removed him from the organization.”
“We truly felt that the fact that he was able to continue to serve as a police officer might have prolonged the suffering of his victims,” he said.

Carrick, who worked as an armed officer with the police’s Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command at Westminster, appeared at a hearing at Southwark Magistrates Court, London.
The man was suspended from his duties when he was arrested in October 2021.
During his appearance today, former agent pleaded guilty to four counts of rape, false imprisonment and indecent assaultin relation to a 40-year-old woman in 2003.
The last december (though it’s only been revealed now), Carrick, who served in the Army before joining the Met in 2001, pleaded guilty to 43 crimes related to 11 other womencommitted between March 2004 and July 2020 in another court hearing before the Old Bailey Criminal Court.
those crimes They included 20 counts of rape, nine of sexual assault, five of penetrative assault, three of coercive and controlling behavior, two of unlawful imprisonment, two of attempted rape, one of attempted penetrative sexual assault, and one of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.

As revealed during the legal proceedings, Carrick he met some of his victims through dating websites like Tinder and Badooor in social events where used the fact of being a policeman to gain the trust of womenand committed most of the crimes in the county of Hertfordshire, where he resided.
London Mayor Said Khan said today that the crimes committed by Carrick make him feel “absolutely sick and horrified”.
“Serious questions must be answered about how he could have abused his position as an agent in this horrendous way,” said the Labor politician.
An official British government spokesman said today that “there is no doubt that public confidence has been shaken by some of these high-profile cases.”
