Israel announced new pauses for evacuations from the northern Gaza Strip, including the capital

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced this Tuesday new pauses with which it intends to accelerate the evacuations of civilians from the north of the Gaza Strip and that on this occasion they contemplate a temporary cessation of the attacks in two neighborhoods of the Gazan capital, in whose streets Israeli soldiers have been fighting for days.

The usual corridor to travel to areas in the south of the Strip will remain open this Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (local time), while in two neighborhoods of Gaza City – that of Al Daraj and Al Tufá— military activities are “suspended” between 10:00 and 14:00, according to a military spokesperson who urges the population to warn of possible blockages in evacuations by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

The military offensive of Israel It is concentrated in the northern part of the Strip, although the UN insists that there is no safe place in the entire territory, given that the attacks also occur in the south. Since November 5, more than 200,000 people have fled to the south of the enclave, according to data from Israeli authorities.

Globally, more than 1.5 million people have already been forced to leave their homes since October 7, equivalent to 70 percent of the population. Of these displaced people, nearly 780,000 have ended up in more than 150 facilities of the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA).

Meanwhile, the IDF announced the seizure of more administrative headquarters in the Sheikh Ijlin and Rimal neighborhoods in the north of the Strip.

Besides of Parliament and the police headquartersthey also captured the governorate house, which housed offices of various Hamas branches.

The army also reported that it took control of an engineering college that “served as an institute for weapons production and development.”

Likewise, the Israeli aviation destroyed during the night some 200 “terrorist targets” while his naval force attacked a military camp used by the Hamas naval unit for “training and weapons storage,” the Army reported.
