At least seven people died this Monday as a result of an attack perpetrated by the Israeli Army against the facilities of the Nairab Military Airport and the Aleppo Airportwhich is currently out of service as a result of the bombing.
Among the dead are four Syrian soldiers and three foreign members of pro-Iranian militias, reported the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an organization based in London but with sources in the Arab country. The attacks have also destroyed an ammunition store.
The Syrian Defense Ministry reported that Israel fired rockets targeting Aleppo International Airport, as well as other points. It also reported the balance of victims and that there have been “some material losses”, although it does not mention casualties.
The Observatory had previously reported that several explosions have been heard in the areas near the aforementioned airport and the military airfield in Aleppo, causing a fire in an ammunition warehouse.
Israel generically recognizes attacks in Syria arguing that it acts to prevent the establishment of Iranian bases in the country and the shipment of arms to Hezbollah terrorist group by the Iranian authorities, who support Damascus in the context of the war that broke out in 2011.
The Observatory reported up to 16 Israeli attacks on Syrian territory so far this year. In them, 46 soldiers have died, five members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, four Syrian pro-Iranian militiamen and three members of the Lebanese Hezbollah militia.
