Israeli soldiers carried out an operation this Thursday that ended in the death of three Palestinian terrorists wanted in connection with a shooting that claimed the lives of a British-Israeli woman and two of her daughtersthe Israeli army reported.

The raid began as residents were starting their day. The army indicated that its forces entered the heart of the troubled city of Nablus and raided the apartment where the three men were. The troops and the suspects exchanged fire and all three men were killed.

“Israeli forces raided the apartment where the terrorists were and in an exchange of fire both were killed,” a military spokesman added.

Palestinians were behind an attack on a car last month near a Jewish settlement in west bankin which British-Israeli mother and two of her daughters have diedthe army explained. In addition, he pointed out that two of them were members of the terrorist group hamas and described the third as a high-ranking agent who had helped them.

In a statement after the Israeli incursion, Hamas reported that the three men, whom it identified as Hassan Qatnani, Moaz al-Masri and Ibrahim Jabr, were part of the group and claimed responsibility for the April attack. He called them “heroes of the Palestinian resistance”.

According to local media, today’s Israeli incursion began with the entry into Nablus of undercover agents who surrounded the house where the wanted Palestinians were, after which military reinforcements were sent. According to the Israeli digital ynetsome 200 members of the security forces participated in the operation.

Israeli shells tore off the roof of the gunmen’s safe house in the center of Nablus’s Old City, leaving little more than twisted metal, concrete blocks and smashed mattresses still stained with blood scattered among the rubble.

The violence in Nablus comes at a particularly sensitive time in the region, days after a prominent Palestinian prisoner who was holding a long hunger strike for his arrest he died in an Israeli jail. His death sparked a barrage of projectiles fired by insurgents in Gaza and air strikes on the coastal enclave that caused one death.

Last month’s deadly attack shocked Israelis because, in an instant, it reduced family members Dee from seven to four. Hundreds of people packed the funerals and the father of the family, Leohas appeared regularly in the Israeli media stating that does not feel hatred towards the murderers and calling for national unity in the midst of a deep social divide.

Defense Minister, Yoav Gallantcongratulated the Israeli forces “for eliminating the terrorist squad”, as did the prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.

“Our message to those who have hurt us and to those who try to hurt us is that, even if it takes a day, a week or a month, rest assured that we will make them pay,” Netanyahu said in a statement.

For more than a year, Israel has been carrying out night arrest raids almost daily in cities, towns and villages of west bank, in an operation sparked by a wave of Palestinian attacks on Israelis last year. Israel maintains that these incursions seek to dismantle insurgent networks and thwart future attacks.

In response to the raids, Palestinian attacks have increased.

Some 250 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire since the start of the operation. Israel reported that the majority were insurgents.

During that time, nearly 50 people have been killed in Palestinian attacks on Israelis.
