Jane Fonda announces that she will not need more chemo, her cancer is in remission

“I feel so blessed and lucky,” wrote the actress who will turn 85 on December 21.

The American actress and activist Jane Fonda announced on Friday on her social networks that her cancer is in remission and celebrated it enthusiastically.

“Best birthday present ever,” wrote Fonda, who will turn 85 on December 21.

“Last week my oncologist told me that my cancer is in remission and that I can stop chemotherapy,” the actress explained. “I feel so blessed and lucky,” she congratulated

The two-time Oscar winner had reported in September that she had been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and that she had started chemotherapy sessions to treat it.

“I am especially happy because although the first four chemotherapy sessions were relatively easy for me (…) the last session was difficult,” he commented in his last post.

The effects of this last session, explained the environmental activist, “happened” when she traveled to Washington to participate in a demonstration by her NGO “Fire Drill Fridays”, created in 2019 to pressure for actions against climate change.

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is a type of cancer that begins in the lymphatic system, a part of the body’s immune defenses, and can turn tumors into widespread tumors.
