Julión Álvarez after serious trouble: “I am a liberated person, but still stained”

After the accusations that weighed against him, Julión Álvarez continues working to clean up his image and recover the place he had among his followers, a situation that, he knows, is not easy, because although everything has been clarified, the stain that weighs on him continues to generate mistrust. The singer from Chiapas assured that, despite having been blacklisted by the United States Department of the Treasury, he is fighting to clear his name, since he “continues to be stained.”

“At some point I would like to document everything that happened throughout the difficult process,” said Julión, since some producers have approached him, however, he wants it to be under his conditions: “I would like for the informational side, because this that It happened to me, I wouldn’t wish it on anyone, because this type of problem not only hits one, but also the family, the work team, friends and everything. Until today I can say that I am a liberated person, but still stained.”

“IT IS SOMETHING THAT MANY PEOPLE DO NOT FORGET”

On the labor issue, Julión accepts that the situation he went through has kept many businessmen who could hire him on the lookout, but who still have doubts about the legal process he went through: “It is something that many people do not forget… there is a certain distrust and They are understood and accepted, and I know that you have to fight with that too, it is a small stain that remained and you have to erase it little by little, but it is very difficult. Everything has a reason and learning about how the case was experienced, what should be avoided, what needs to be studied, knowing everything to avoid falling into an accusation like the one that happened to a server and all the people who surrounds.”

FREE FROM ALL ACCUSATION

On May 27, Julión Álvarez confirmed his removal from the United States Department of the Treasury blacklist, freeing him of all accusations for alleged ties to drug trafficking, for which his accounts were unfrozen, his recording materials returned to digital music platforms, and you will be able to resume your schedule in the United States. After the verdict, in which he was exonerated as drug trafficking lender, Álvarez affirmed that he will now be able to do business with American companies and individuals.

THE SCANDAL

It was in 2017 when Julión’s life took a 180 degree turn, as the United States Department of the Treasury linked Julio César Álvarez Montelongo (real name of the artist) with the drug trafficker Raúl Flores Hernández, alias “el Tío”, an alleged member of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG), adding him to the blacklist of celebrities linked to drug trafficking.

Álvarez was accused of being Tío’s front man, along with 20 other Mexicans, including soccer player Rafael Márquez, and 43 companies. Due to these accusations, Julión received a series of sanctions, such as the annulment of his visa, the freezing of his bank accounts in the United States, as well as the prohibition of making presentations or business in that country and even all his discrographic materials were eliminated from digital music platforms. At that time, the singer denied having a relationship with Flores Hernández, but later acknowledged that he met him at concerts in Guadalajara, Jalisco, which caused Julión to be banned and since then he began a fight to clear his name.

El Tío was arrested in July 2017 in Zapopan, Jalisco, and transferred to the South Prison in Mexico City; to later be extradited to the United States at the request of the Federal District Court for the District of Columbia. He was accused of negotiating and trafficking large amounts of cocaine with various cartels in Mexico; as well as supplying narcotics in Colombia and controlling drug shipment routes from Mexico to the United States.
