Karaoke mode in Apple Music, how to use it

The app added a feature to do karaoke alone or with friends.

Following in the footsteps of Spotify, Apple Music will add a karaoke mode that will allow users to follow the lyrics of a song, either alone or with a duet from a list of options that the platform intends to expand.

“We already know that our users around the world love to follow their favorite songs, so we wanted to develop this offer further to enable more engagement around music through singing. It’s really a lot of fun, our customers are going to love it,” he said. Oliver Schusser, vice president of the application

Access to this feature will be free, so no additional subscription will be required and it will simply be integrated via an update so users can choose when they want to use it.

This tool will be available at the end of December for all the devices in which the application is found, iPad, iPhone and Apple TV 4K.

For its operation, it will take advantage of the lyrics that are already integrated into several of the songs, so users will be the ones who make the adjustments by raising and lowering the voice volume of the artists to enjoy karaoke.

Not all songs will have this feature active, but they do claim to have “an ever-expanding catalog featuring tens of millions” of tracks so users can choose from a wide range of options.

Additionally, the platform will activate up to 50 playlists with songs “fully optimized for the experience of Apple Music Sing”, including several genres with popular themes and one with tracks that feature several artists at the same time for people to duet at gatherings with friends.

Karaoke can be activated through a button that will appear above the progress bar, next to the options to add to a list and settings, it will have a microphone symbol surrounded by stars. Clicking there will display the option to adjust the artist’s volume, because the user can choose between singing with him or alone with the song track.

There will also be additional voices to help users enjoy the experience, beat-synced animations for lyric tracking, and duet guides.
