He King Charles III highlighted this Friday the “truly remarkable courage and resilience” of the Ukrainians, when the first anniversary of the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine is celebrated.
In a statement released by Buckingham Palace, the British monarch recalled that “a year has passed since the Ukrainians have suffering unimaginably from a full-scale attack against his nation.”
He stressed that “have shown truly remarkable courage and resilience in the face of such a human tragedy”.
At the same time, he added, “the world has watched in horror at all the unnecessary suffering inflicted on Ukrainiansmany of whom I have had the great pleasure of meeting in the UK and around the world, from Romania to Canada.
Carlos III recalls in the statement his meeting at the beginning of the month with the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenskyat Buckingham Palace to “express” his “personal support” for the Ukrainians.
“It is heartening that the UK, together with its allies, are doing everything they can to help in the most difficult times. For this reason, I can only trust that the outpouring of solidarity from around the world will bring not only practical help, but also the strength of knowing that together we are united, ”concludes the British sovereign in his message.
