Singer Lucas Wong announces his departure from NCT, WayV, K-Pop groups that belong to SM Entertainment.
K-Pop star Lucas Wong will be leaving boy groups NCT and WayV, SM Entertainment announced on Wednesday, May 10. SM added that Lucas will be leaving both groups “to pursue his individual endeavors.”
Now fans are wondering what will happen to their participation in SuperM, the Avengers of K-Pop.
The 24-year-old Chinese-Thai K-Pop idol also posted his handwritten letter on Instagram, translating his statement into Chinese, Korean, and English.
“After much deliberation and reflection, I have made the difficult decision to part ways with NCT and WayV. I sincerely feel sorry for the members and it is with a heavy heart that I am leaving behind a friendship of many years,” Lucas Wong wrote.
“I will cherish these memories and will never forget them. I hope the members will remember me as Huang Xuxi, not just Lucas. I really love them and will always support them from the bottom of my heart,” he added.
Aside from NCT and WayV, Lucas is also a part of SuperM, which consists of members of various SM K-Pop boybands such as SHINee, EXO, and NCT 127. It is unclear if he will be leaving both the label and SuperM. After all, Lucas Wong was canceled due to a strong controversy.
