Choi’s ex-husband, a 28-year-old man nicknamed Kwongwas arrested for murder Saturday afternoon while trying to flee the city by boat, Chung said.

“You may have been expecting a speedboat to illegally flee the city”, said a source quoted by the media South China Morning Post.

Choi’s ex-husband’s father, mother and older brother were arrested hours earlier and face murder charges, Chung said.

“We believe that the victim and her ex-husband’s family had many financial disputes on large sums” of money, he indicated.

“Someone was dissatisfied with the way the victim handled his assets, which became a motive to kill,” he added.

Chung said authorities believe Choi had financial disputes involving tens of millions of Hong Kong dollarsdepending on the medium skynews.

Choi was reported missing on Wednesday.

She would have been last seen by her ex-husband’s brother, who was also her driver. Police said the family had lied to mislead investigators.

The house was recently rented and was kept unfurnished, suggesting that it was prepared to dispose of Choi’s bodysaid the police superintendent.

It is believed that the ex father in lawwho rented the house, is the Intelectual author of the assassination plan, according to a police source quoted by South China Morning Post.

The investigation also found that Choi had not registered her marriage with her current husbandson of one of the founders of TamJai Yunnan Mixian, a Hong Kong casual restaurant chain operating in mainland China. This implied that her assets would be inherited by her two children – a son and a daughter – with Kwong, according to the media.
