Authorities raided Marilyn Manson’s residence on Monday after several women they accused the singer of sexual and physical abuse.
The Deputy Chief of the Los Angeles County Police Department reported that a search warrant was executed at Manson’s residence, whose legal name is Brian Hugh Warner. He did not release further details.
County police said last February that their detectives had opened an investigation against Manson because of reports of domestic violence between 2009 and 2011 in West Hollywood, where he lived at the time.
The women involved were not identified, but several have publicly assured this year that they were victims of sexual, physical and emotional abuse by Manson at the time of the incidents under investigation. Some of the women have filed lawsuits.
Manson has denied the allegations against him.
The 52-year-old singer’s ex-fiancee, the “Westworld” actress Evan Rachel Wood first identified Manson as the person who abused her with an Instagram post last February.
Manson described Wood’s statements as “A horrible distortion of reality.”
Last May, “Game of Thrones” actress Esmé Bianco sued Manson in federal court., accusing him of sexual, physical and emotional abuse. Bianco claims that Manson violated human trafficking laws by taking her from England to California to participate in films and music videos that never existed.
Manson deprived Bianco of food and sleep, locked her in her room, spanked her, inflicted electric shocks, and threatened to enter the room and rape her overnight., according to demand.
What’s more, a former Manson assistant accused him in another lawsuit of sexual violence, assault and stalking, claiming that he used “his position of power, fame and connections to exploit and victimize her during the time she worked for him.”
Manson catapulted to stardom in the mid-1990s. 1990, known as much for public controversy as for hits like “The Beautiful People”.
