Miami: a European chain opened an “accessible luxury” hotel in the Worldcenter

CitizenM focuses on a concept that it defines as “accessible luxury”: facilities with comfort details in high-end locations at affordable prices, which are aimed primarily at millennials on the go or business travelers. Its new 12-story hotel has 351 rooms that are 150 square feet (14 square meters) on average. With rates starting at $179 per night, that’s considerably below the county average for Miami-Dade from USD 310.

The chain already had a hotel in the city, the CitizenM Brickell, in Mary Brickell Village. Another location is scheduled to open in 2024 in South Beach. The company has hotels under development in Dallas, Paris, Dublin Y Rome. Your new location in Miami It is the number 30 of the firm.

According to Nitin Motwaniassociate manager of Miami Worldcenter Associates, the hotel will make this exclusive area accessible to a greater number of travelers. “We have always wanted Miami Worldcenter to be an attractive place for everyone,” he said.

The Miami Worldcenter began construction in early 2016 and is the second largest urban complex in USAsecond only to the 28 acres (11.3 hectares) of the Hudson Yards of NY. Conveniently located a few steps from some of the most important places of entertainment and culture, and in front of the new terminal of Central Miamithe region’s first high-speed train connecting Miami with Fort Lauderdale Y West Palm Beachis one of many projects of a downtown in rapid transformation.

Ernest Lee, director of development for CitizenM Hotels, said the firm was interested in Miami “because it is a very important city and market for us.” The reason for this is because “it is the cultural and business capital and the gateway to most of Latin America (…) and now it has a technology scene”.

Hotel highlights include a 10th-floor terrace and bar cloudM on the rooftop, which offers views of Biscayne Bay and the waterfront of the downtown of Miami. It also features 1,850 square feet (172 square meters) for societyM, the brand’s exclusive creative spaces and meeting rooms. CitizenM Miami Worldcenter add to the combo a vibrant program of public art and interiors filled with an eclectic mix of contemporary works, photography and objects by local artists.
