Now it seems that anyone can do stand up: Alex Quiroz

In four years, Alex Quiroz has grown more than a thousand percent. His popularity has led him from doing shows in the emerging spaces of the Shakespeare Forum (where between 30 and 50 people can fit) to appearing at the Lebanese Theater, which has a capacity of 535 people and in which Alex prepares the first recording of his show.

Alex Quiroz is a standup guy who took off by winning “Stand Up Comedy School War 2019” and being runner-up in the Stand Up Comedy Collective League that same year. That allowed him to appear with artists of the stature of Ricardo O’Farril, Alex Fernández, Slobotzky, Mau Nieto, Dany Sosa and Ricardo Pérez.

“Sometimes people think that it is easy to do stand up and that is because stand up courses and workshops have become very popular. There are some who tell you that with a workshop of a few hours you can learn to do this type of comedy, but the truth is that it takes much more than two hours”, explains Alex Quiroz when describing how hard it has been for him to climb steps in these ever-growing stages.

Alex, for example, is not only standup. He has 8 years of experience as a comedy actor specialized in theater and clown with more than 100 works of different repertoire.

That contrasts with the way people prepare today: “They take a workshop and believe that this is enough for anyone to do stand up.”

In addition to the Shakespeare Forum, he toured the league in stages such as the Beer Hall, Interlomas Park Theater, and even in one of the alternate stages of the Sol Forum.

“In the LIbanés Theater it is the first time that we will record the show and the truth is that I feel excited. I had already presented myself in other massive forums but I had never done it for my personal show”.

Of course, Alex Quiroz has chosen the best of his material for his presentation on May 19 at the Teatro Libanés and which is entitled “Hate is okay.”

Quiroz has more than 5 million followers on Tik Tok and more than 359 thousand on IG thanks to the different comedy content that is presented there, so he perfectly understands how important social networks are, where he usually presents corrosive humor. and irreverent.

These are numbers that show that Alex Quiroz was not mistaken when, four years ago, he decided to pause his career as an actor and theater director to dedicate himself to stand-up.

Alex is co-host of “Al Chile” from La H platform and “Se me suío el Muerto” as independent productions. He is the host and creator of “Verdad o Shot” on the La Corporrisa channel with more than 686,000 subscribers.
