Speaking to the news agency Reuters On Friday, Youssouf said he felt relatively calm recounting the incident.
“I felt like there was no reason for him to come attack me. I stayed calm, I didn’t go after him, to chase him. I stayed still, sitting, but he came like that and probably wanted to create another victim, bother another person,” Youssouf said.


“I can imagine the stress of the children’s families and their loved ones, or other children who saw the incident,” he added.
“Is terribleespecially with children attacked like this, it is terrible and especially in a quiet place and known for itI don’t know why Annecy, why here, but hey, we can’t reason with that,” he concluded.
A video of the attack, taken by a passerby and verified by Reutersshows the assailant jumping over a low wall into a playground and repeatedly lunging at a child in a prampushing aside a woman who tries to dodge him.
