Palestinian terrorists from Gaza fired 104 shells at Israel in the last 24 hours, as confirmed by the army of the Jewish State, which responded this morning with aerial bombardments on military objectives of the jihadist organization Hamas on the fringe.
The terror attacks began on Tuesday morning in response to the death of the Palestinian prisoner khader adnanmember of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (YIP), who passed away after going on an 86-day hunger strike.
“In response to dozens of rockets fired at Israel from Gaza, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) attacked weapons manufacturing centers, military complexes and terrorist tunnels underground belonging to terrorist organizations,” the Israeli Army said on its Twitter account.
“Terrorism anywhere is a threat to civilians everywhere,” he added.
According to information released by the IDF and quoted by the news agency EFE, 24 rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome anti-missile system, 14 exploded inside the Strip, 11 fell into the sea and 48 hit Israeli territory in unpopulated areas. The army also denounced shots with mortars by Palestinian terrorists.
“Dozens of rockets have been fired from Gaza at israeli civilians, who have had to run towards the anti-aircraft shelters. This has been the reality for many in Israel today,” the Defense Forces said.
The IDF detailed that two rockets fell in Beit Hanoun, inside Gaza, and that they caused five civilians injured, including children.
“Once again, the terrorist attacks directed against Israel end up hurting innocent people of Gaza”, wrote the Army on Twitter.
This is the biggest aggression from Gaza so far in 2023, and the most important since the three-day escalation in August of last year between the Israeli Army and the YIP.

The so-called “Joint Operations Room”, made up of various Palestinian terrorist factions from the Gaza Strip, claimed the responsibility of the releases of rockets on Tuesday.
In a statement, the group, which includes terrorist groups Hamas and Islamic Jihadconfirmed that the attack occurred in response to the death of Khader Adnan.
The Joint Operations Room specified that the attack was only “an initial response to this heinous crime”, while describing Adnan’s death as a “Zionist assassination”.
EFE reported that Israel and Palestinian terrorists agreed on Wednesday on a Stop the fire. The agreement, according to the Spanish news agency, was thanks to the mediation of Egypt, Qatar and the United Nations. The Government of the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahuand the IDF has not yet officially confirmed the cessation of hostilities.
