Paula Abdul sues “American Idol” producer for alleged sexual assault

Nigel Lythgoe, the producer of the hit talent shows “American Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance,” is facing a lawsuit alleging sexual assault by singer and actress Paula Abdul, who alleges the uncomfortable situation occurred during the recordings of the first seasons of the music-themed reality show.

According to “Pagesix”, which obtained the official document of the complaint filed yesterday, Friday, December 29, the choreographer also points out that the attack occurred in the elevator of a hotel while they were traveling for “American Idol.”

«Nigel Lythgoe pushed her against the wall. Then he grabbed her geni… and her breasts and forcibly kissed her,” the complaint details.

According to the version, when the elevator door opened, Nigel ran to his room, and Abdul called one of his representatives, crying, to report the attack.

Additionally, another situation is reported when she participated in the SYTYCD dance competition, since the 74-year-old producer invited her to dinner at his house. Paula accepted the proposal, thinking that it was a professional matter.

“Towards the end of the evening, Lythgoe climbed on top of Abdul when she was sitting on her couch and attempted to kiss her while proclaiming that the two would make an excellent ‘power couple,’” it is described.

After this, the artist let him know that she was not interested and left immediately. Likewise, the “Rush Rush” singer claims that he witnessed another attack by the producer against one of his assistants.
