Pedro Pascal will star in the horror film “Weapons”

The Chilean Pedro Pascal will be the protagonist of the next film by Zach Cregger.

Pedro Pascal, the Chilean-American actor who has captivated audiences with his performances in Narcos, Game of Thrones, The Mandalorian and The Last of Us, will now star in Weapons, the new film project from the filmmakers behind Barbarian, the surprise terror that was a success.

The film is being produced by New Line, with a script written by Zach Cregger, who will also direct the film.

Cregger will also produce this film starring the handsome Pedro Pascal, along with his production team from Barbarian, Vertigo’s Roy Lee and BoulderLight Pictures’ JD Lifshitz and Raphael Margules. Vertigo’s Miri Yoon also produces.

The film’s plot is being kept under wraps, but it’s described as an interlocking horror epic of several stories that is, in tone, along the lines of Magnolia, the star-studded 1999 showcase from filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson.

Weapons was the subject of an intense bidding war in January, as Hollywood studios and streamers battled for the opportunity to work with Cregger, whose Barbarian, produced for just $4.5 million, became a favorite not only with audiences and critics, but also from filmmakers and fellow filmmakers.
