This onion dip is a classic with a twist, and it is also ideal to serve at parties and gatherings, since it can be enjoyed with your favorite snacks.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons of butter
- 2 onions, large
- 1/4 cups of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1 cup of sour cream
- 3/4 cups cream cheese, smooth
- 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoons white pepper
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- enough of soy sauce
- 1/2 cups cambray onion stalk, chopped
- enough of cambray onion stem, chopped, to decorate
- enough of black sesame seeds, to decorate
- enough of fries, chips, plain
- enough of toasted bread
Preparation
Heat a saucepan over medium-low heat and add the butter, onion, brown sugar and soy sauce.
Stir constantly until the volume has reduced by 75% and the color has turned a deep brown. Remove from heat and reserve. Let cool at room temperature.
Place the caramelized onions, sour cream, cream cheese, garlic powder, white pepper, and onion powder in a bowl and mix well with a spatula.
Season with a little soy sauce and add the chopped spring onion stalks.
Serve the onion dip in a bowl, sprinkle with spring onion stalks and sesame seeds and serve with French fries and toasted bread.
