Hundreds of people protested this Friday in various locations in the US after the images of the beating that several policemen gave a young African-American man, who died three days after the clash, were revealed.

The protesters, mostly young people, gathered in Washington Front of White House, with signs that read “end police terror”, “justice for tire nichols” Y “jail the killer cops”.

I’m sick of seeing our people die in heinous waysof the lack of humanity and disrespect against us blacks,” he told the news agency EFE Nadine Sealer57, who came to protest in the US capital.

Sealer, who was carrying a sign calling for forceful action against the police officers who beat Nichols, said he has not seen the video, which was played by major national television networks.

There was also a large deployment of police patrols in one of the streets adjacent to the lafayette parklocated right in front of the White House.

The protests in NY started from before the publication of the videos. There were concentrations in the times square and also in Union Squareon the east side of Manhattan.

“In 2020, we take to the streets. Millions of people in this country led an uprising. And we will do whatever it takes to see justice done, not just Tyre Nichols but for all the victims of police brutality, so that this comes to an end once and for all,” said a protester identified as Gabriela.

According to local media, at least 3 people were arrested in Times Square.

In Memphis, there were marches demanding an end to police violence shouting: “Please don’t shoot me, I have my hands on my head.”

However, few were the people who claimed to have seen the video of the police beating against the young African-American.

“I don’t have to watch the video to know what happened to him,” said Amber Sherman member of Black Lives Matterdaily The Washington Post.

“I was able to see the photo of him in the hospital and I know that he was brutally murdered,” he said.

In mississippi, In the southern United States, dozens of protesters closed the bridge that crosses the river of the same name to demand justice for the murder of Tire Nicholsreported the American newspaper The Washington Post.

Several drivers trapped around the bridge tried to mediate with the protesters to open the way for Interstate 55, but to no avail.

“I understand everything, but I need to go to the bathroom,” said Jasmin Johnson in statements collected by the aforementioned medium

It’s useless to get angry, but I have family at home and I need to go eat,” he added.

Another motorist, who declined to give his name, questioned the police’s failure to act to clear up the protest.

“Where is the police? Are they afraid? This is important. Traffic is now backed up all the way to Arkansas,” she expressed.

Tyrone Nichols29, died at a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, after five police officers beat him while stopping him for an alleged traffic violation.

The images, which show the beating and Nichols on the ground surrounded by several officers, sparked outrage among Americans.

Five of the agents who were involved in the beating Nichols were fired from the Police department and face a series of criminal charges for the death of Nichols.

The United States Attorney General, merrick garlandpromised this Friday that there will be an investigation into the death of Nichols and asked that any protests that there may be about this event be peaceful.

The usa police has been pointed out by human rights organizations for using violence disproportionately towards the black population in the country.

Almost a third of all people killed by the Police in the US in 2021 were African-Americans, despite being only 13% of the country’s population, according to the organization Mapping Police Violence.
