He Federal Security Service Russia (FSB) has arrested this Wednesday a Russian military “recruited by the special services of Ukraine who was planning an attack on a Black Sea Fleet ship.
According to the Russian security department, the detainee has been seized two improvised explosive devices equivalent to one kilo of TNT with which he planned to attack a ship that “carried high-precision missile weapons.”
The Russian authorities have added that the detained Russian soldier is also suspected of transferring secret state information to Ukraine. Thus, criminal cases have been opened for the crime of terrorist act, illegal trafficking in explosives, high treason and disclosure of secret information.
In accordance with the penalties included in the Russian Penal Code for these crimes, the detainee could face a life sentence, according to information collected by the Russian agency Interfax.
The FSB has not revealed the name of the officer or the ship allegedly attacked.
Two unmanned boats of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the patrol ship “Sergey Kotov” of the Russian Black Sea Fleet but were repelled, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
“Tonight the Ukrainian Armed Forces unsuccessfully tried to attack the Black Sea Fleet patrol vessel “Sergei Kotov”, which carries out shipping inspection tasks in the southwestern part of the Black Sea,” said the department headed by Sergei Shoigu.
According to Defense, the enemy vessels were destroyed at a distance of “1,000 and 800 meters”, respectively.
The incident caused no casualties and the Russian patrolman continues to carry out its duties, Russia said.
Last week, the Russian military reported that “Sergei Kotov” had detected a drifting Ukrainian mine 180 kilometers northeast of the Bosphorus Strait, which was destroyed by the patrol boat.
The patrol ship began to fulfill various tasks in the Black Sea last summer.
Ukraine managed in April 2022 to sink the flagship ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the “Moskva”.while in May of the same year he claimed to have done the same with the support ship Vsevolod Bobrovone of the newest in the Russian fleet.

During the exercise, the ships and aviation also trained “actions to isolate the area temporarily closed to navigation and carried out a set of measures to stop the offending ship” designed for the maneuvers.
For its part, Ukraine considers military targets, As of this July 21, all those ships that go to the Russian Black Sea ports or occupied by Russia, after Moscow did the same with all the vessels sailing to Ukrainian ports.
