Zaporizhzhia is located in eastern Ukraine, an area that is under the control of Zelensky’s forces, while the nuclear power station that bears his same name is occupied by Moscow almost from the beginning of the war.

Last Thursday, Russia launched a new offensive in this region, which involves brutal and repeated bombardments. Since then, missile impacts have already been recorded in kyiv, Nikolaev, Kharkiv, Odessa, Yitomir, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnitsky, Ternopil and Lviv.

These attacks, launched during the early hours of the morning, when most people were asleep, left at least six civilians killed and much of the country Without eleectricity.

Russia employed Kinzhal-type hypersonic missiles for these operations, considered one of your most valuable weaponssince they are able to reach almost anywhere in the world -its range is more than 2,000 kilometers- and they a speed between five and ten times greater than that of sound.

Kinzhals are launched from trucks on the ground and can maneuver very quickly, making it difficult to intercept. Yuriy Ihnat, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, admitted that “they have no weapons capable of taking down the Kinzhals”.

In this sense, in the last few hours, the Russian Defense Minister, Oleksi Reznikov, accounted for 820 cruise missiles that your country has already launched against the occupied territory, from October 2022.

The use of these weapons by Moscow, just over a year after the war, could be due to a number of reasons. Some specialists suggest that the Kremlin would be running out of the weapons that he usually used in his attacksfor which he would have been forced to use these most precious while, other sources, estimate that it is due to the desperate need to get a win.

“For one reason or another, they needed a result,” commented a spokesman for the navy who, in turn, did not underestimate Russia’s ability to get hold of this weapon again. “You might be able to replenish the Kinzhals relatively easily since it’s just a modified version of an existing missile”said.

Along with the attacks, Moscow has claimed the conquest of Prechistovka and Ugledarin the Donetsk region, near Zaporizhzhia, after leaving more than 70 casualties of the Ukrainian military and destroying three armored vehicles with more offensives.
