Russia announced that the Anti-Terrorism Committee of the Federal Security Service (FSB, the replacement for the KGB) has started a investigation about the head of the mercenary group Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhinafter he targeted the Kremlin and the official troops and call for a riot to overthrow Vladimir Putin.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskovreported late on Friday that the President “has been informed about all the events around Prigozhin” and that “the necessary measures are already being taken in this regard.”
For their part, in the official communiqué of the intelligence service they state that “the statements are baseless” and demand “the immediate cessation of illegal activities”.

In the midst of the tensions that date back months between the paramilitary group and the Ministry of Defence Russian – in charge of Sergei Shoigu-, Prigozhin released an audio message on Friday in which he said that “the command committee of the Wagner group decided that We must stop those who have military responsibility in the countryand then called do not oppose “resistance” to their militiamen or they will be “eliminated immediately”.
He also assured that his team still has some 25,000 fighters and? “everyone who wants” to join their ranks to end official military command and “end disorder” will be welcome.
“We are 25,000 and we are going to determine the causes of the chaos that reigns in the country (…) Our strategic reserves are the entire army and the entire country,” he said next.

However, Prigozhin He distanced himself from the “riot” accusation of which he is accused and, on the contrary, he explained that what he intends is to organize a “march for justice”.
“It is not a military coup but a march for justice. Our actions do not pose an obstacle to the Armed Forces, ”he clarified.
The exchange between the Kremlin and the militant leader followed a bombing raid on a Wagner base in the rear of the front line with Ukraine, which claimed “an enormous number” of casualties.
Prigozhin held the Russian Defense Ministry responsible for these actswhile the Moscow military leadership denied having been involved in such acts.

“They have carried out bombardments, missile bombardments, against our rear bases. A huge number of our fighters died”, said the head of the militiamen and vowed to “respond” to these attacks.
For its part, the Ministry assured that the accusations “do not correspond to reality” and called them a “provocation”.
The Russian Armed Forces “continue to conduct combat missions on the line of contact with the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of special military operation,” they noted instead.
Prigozhin also took aim at the Kremlin and said that the official version of the war is based on lies invented by the high command of the Army – promptly Shoigu and the top general of Russia, Valery Gerasimov-.

“The Ministry of Defense is trying to deceive society and the President and tell us a story about how there was a crazed aggression from Ukraine and that they planned to attack us with all of NATO,” he said before calling this narrative “a beautiful story”.
“The special operation was started for different reasons. The war was necessary…so that Shoigu could become a marshal…so that he could get a second ‘hero’ medal. The war was not necessary to demilitarize or denazify Ukraine”, he sentenced next.
