This morning, police officers executed a preventive detention order against three young people issued by the Palermo Court and another against the accused minor, processed by the Juvenile Court of the Sicilian capital.

These four defendants are joined by three other alleged accomplices who had already been arrested on August 3.

All of them are being investigated by the crime of group sexual violenceexplained the carabineros (militarized police) in a statement.

The investigations showed that the group of young people sexually abused a Palermo woman in a drunken state on July 7.

The assailants took their victim to an isolated area in the center of the city and took turns raping her.

The carabinieri recalled that operations like this “demonstrate that by finding the strength not to remain silent and asking the police forces for help, all forms of violence against women can be adequately combated.”

Since last July, one of the sons of the president of the italian senate, Ignazio LaRussa, Leonardo Apache19, is under investigation after a 22 year old of Milan (northern Italy) denounced him for sexual assaultas published by the newspaper Corriere della Sera.
