Spotify still highly dependent on the podcast. Now, the Swedish company has acquired two new platforms which aims to improve on some of the weaknesses they are experiencing.

The first acquisition was podsightsa service that measures the reach of podcast ads and the second, chartable, an analysis service for this popular content. This was announced by the company itself through a press release posted on its official website.

They say Spotify plans to fix some of the problems it’s having with podcasts. Then, with the acquisition of Podsight, the service hopes to help advertisers understand “how podcast advertising drives actions that matter to your business.”

Spotify music will also benefit from both acquisitions

However, it appears that the benefits Spotify will gain from purchasing Podsight are not limited to podcasts. The company indicated that the service can be used in the rest of the platform such as music.

“Over time, we plan to extend these measurement capabilities beyond podcasts to the full scope of the Spotify platform; including audio ads within music, video ads, and display ads.” mentioned Spotify Newsroom.

Spotify, on the other hand, wants to improve the existing ability of content creators to monetize, create and measure the results of your podcasts. That is why the acquisition of a second company, Chartable, will be really beneficial.

The Swedish company assures that with the integration of Chartable will be able to enhance what they already offer with the Megaphone Toolkit; providing “insights about the audience and state-of-the-art promotional toolsSmartLinks and SmartPromos”.

“These tools will make it easier for publishers to turn audience insights into action and expand their listenership and; ultimately grow your business,” Spotify Newsroom added.

Although there are difficulties, the Swedish platform continues to bet on podcasts

This isn’t Spotify’s first acquisition in the podcast space. The company focused a lot on this part since it bought the platform Anchor in 2019.

In addition, in 2020, the company acquired the platform mega phone, which you have successfully integrated into your service; and who intend to enrich themselves with graphics tools.

It was recently revealed that podcasts on Spotify will come with adswhether you like it or not. The company notes that its service will have ads embedded in the middle of the audio that they cannot be avoided while listening to podcasts. This proposal is now available at U.S and little by little it will spread to the rest of the latitudes.

Spotify continues to outperform other competitors in this field. On the other hand, it seems that Manzana continues to maintain a less aggressive approach to its platform Apple Podcasts; although it is not clear if that was the wisest decision.

Now, Spotify plans to address the issues that people in Cupertino are also experiencing on their platform; so that little by little they gain more and more advantage in the game.
