The National Ministry of Defense of Taiwan detected this Saturday twelve fighters and four warships of the Chinese Army near the island.
According to the Taiwanese authorities, one of the enemy aircraft entered the Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) around 06:00 local time.
“One of the planes was detected in the southeast of the air defense perimetera”, confirmed the Defense portfolio on its Twitter account, while announcing the deployment of combat aircraft and Navy ships, in addition to the activation of land-based missile launch systems in response.
In the last two years, Chinese military airplanes have made numerous sorties in the Taiwanese ADIZintensifying at a time when tensions between the two territories have worsened.

Beijing views such maneuvers as “a serious warning” against “the provocation of the separatist forces” and a “action necessary to protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity”.
The Chinese regime undertook these latest moves in response to the meeting in Los Angeles (USA) between the Taiwanese president, Tsai Ing-wenand the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy.
Tsai assured on the social network Facebook that as president represents his country “to the world”and that his visits abroad are not new and what the Taiwanese expect him to do.
“However, China used this to launch military exercises, causing instability in Taiwan and the region. This is not a responsible attitude, ”he said.
“China cannot dictate how Taiwan makes friends or how our friends support Taiwan,” Taiwanese foreign minister said. Joseph Wu to the CNNmaking it clear that they have also increased their military training “to be ready at any time if China wants to launch war.”
“Look at the military exercises and also their rhetoric. They seem to be trying to prepare to launch a war against Taiwan. The Taiwanese government sees the Chinese military threat as something that cannot be accepted and we condemn it,” he added.
The escalation of tensions in the region began with the trip to the island of the then Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, in August of last year, although they have rebounded after the meeting between Tsai and McCarthy.
Taiwan has had an independent government since 1949, but China considers the territory under its sovereignty.
