Seven people were injured in a firearm attack on a bus in the Lower Galilee region, north of Israel and bordering the West Bank. Two Palestinian suspects have been detained by the Israeli authorities.
“Following the shooting attack on a bus in the Jordan Valley, police forces who were called to the scene began conducting searches to locate the suspects. During inspections, officers spotted a burning vehicle and located two suspects running through the area.”confirmed a spokesman for the Israeli Police.
The attack took place near the Israeli settler settlement of Hamra, where the Magen David Adom emergency service treated two passengers with moderate injuries and five others with minor injuries.he reported in a statement.
The attackers fired at the bus from a truck and when it stopped they poured gasoline on the passenger vehicle in an attempt to set it on fire.explained a military spokesman to local media.
The bus was full and was hit by at least eight bulletsaccording to eyewitnesses, who added that a third suspect fled the scene at the time of the shooting.
Shortly after the event, Israeli troops found the two suspects, identified as Palestinians, carrying firearms, near the burning vehicle believed to be the one used to escape, probably accidentally by a Molotov cocktail.

”We saw two people with gunshot wounds outside the bus who were being treated by Army doctors. A man in his 60s and another younger. They were fully conscious and able to communicate with us. In addition, there were other youths injured by broken glass,” a Magen David Adom doctor confirmed.
The two gunshot victims were airlifted to Rambam Hospital, while the other injured were taken by ambulance to Haemek Hospital in Afula.”
Defense Minister Benny Gantz praised troops for arresting the pair of suspects after the attack. “Security forces immediately launched a manhunt and captured the suspects in the attack in a swift and professional operation,” he said on Twitter.
In recent weeks there have been several Palestinian attacks on buses, one a week near Ramallah and another two in East Jerusalem; as well as around settler settlements in the occupied West Bank.
Tensions have deepened in the West Bank recently, with Israeli security forces stepping up raids and arrest operations following a deadly wave of terror attacks that left 19 people dead earlier this year.
The past week alone has seen several attacks, as Palestinian gunmen fired on several West Bank military posts, and a soldier was stabbed near Hebron. There have also been numerous stone-throwing attacks on Israeli civilians moving around the West Bank.
