The exterior door through which the shooter entered Robb Elementary School to kill 18 students and two teachers it had actually been locked by a teacher, but not locked.

This was revealed on Tuesday by the local police, denying what they had said initially the investigators, by assuring that the teacher had left the door open before Salvador Ramos, 18, entered the school in UvaldeTexas, May 24.

It is now known that this teacher, who has not been identified, opened the door and held it open with a stone, but he removed the stone and closed the door when he realized there was a shooter on campus, according to Travis Considine, director of communications for the Texas Department of Public Safety.

However, Considine said, the door did not close properly. The researchers confirmed the detail through additional video footage reviewed in recent days.

Considine said the teacher opened the door first, then ran inside to get her phone and call 911 when Ramos crashed his truck.

“He came back with the phone in his hand, heard someone yell, ‘He’s got a gun!’ saw him jump the fence and saw he had a gun, so he ran inside” and removed the stone when he did that, Considine said.

And he went on to say: “We verified that She closed the door. The door didn’t lock. We know a lot and now the researchers are looking into why it wasn’t blocked.”

San Antonio Lawyer, Don FlaneryHe told the San Antonio Express-News that the Robb Elementary School employee, whom he did not name, he closed the door after noticing that an armed man was on the loose.

“She saw the remains of the crash,” Flanary told the newspaper. “He ran inside to get his phone to report the accident. She came back while on the phone with 911. The funeral home men yelled, ‘He’s got a gun!’ She saw him jump the fence and he had a gun so she ran inside.”

“He kicked the stone when he went back inside. She remembers closing the door as she told 911 that was shooting. He thought the door would close because that door is always supposed to be closed.”

Flanary told the newspaper that the employee had initially left the door open to take food from a car to the classroom.
