“We have a breakthrough: it is an opportunity for countries that own Leopard tanks to start training missions, courses for our tank crews. We will start with this and then we will move on,” said the head of Defense in an interview with Voice of America.
Reznikov has detailed that, despite the fact that the Contact Group for Ukrainemeeting at the German military base in Ramstein, has shown his negative to approve the shipment of Leopard main battle tanks to kyiv, it has allowed the training of Ukrainian soldiers with these types of tanks.
“I look at it with optimism. Because the first step has been taken: we will start training programs on Leopard 2″, Reznikov pointed out, reporting that the training agreements have been possible thanks to the initiatives of Poland and UK.

The supply of tanks has focused international attention in recent days, since Berlin has in its power to authorize the re-export of the tanks to Ukraine, as requested by Poland and the Baltic countries.
Meanwhile, the foreign ministers of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania They have asked this Saturday on their social networks the German Government to “immediately” send Leopard tanks to Ukraine to assist the Ukrainian Army against the Russian invasion in the face of the misgivings exhibited by Berlin.
