The Champs-Élysées are transformed into a giant classroom for the largest dictation in the world

The largest avenue in the world is preparing to become this June 4th the largest classroom: 1,700 people from the age of 10 they are invited to indulge in a French passion: “la dictée”, dictation.

“On Sunday afternoon, June 4, at the initiative of the Champs-Elysées Committee, the avenue will be the scene of a unique moment in its history: the organization of the largest dictation in the world”, indicated the association that promotes and encourages the famous artery.

Guinness Book teams will be invited to validate the record for this unprecedented event due to its magnitude.

In 6,600 square metersbetween the George V metro station and the Arc de Triomphe, a reconstruction of a classroom will be installed, with desks, a platform and a blackboard (actually a giant screen).

During the event, three dictations with different themes will take place. The Paris mayor’s office, which has opened a page to sign up for the event, announced that personalities from the world of culture, sports and literature will be invited to read and participate in these events.

All lovers of the French language over the age of 10 can register, and nearly 1,700 participants will be drawn.
