The impressive photos of the winter storm that affects the United States

A large number of states in the United States register temperatures below zero As a major freezing storm, known as cyclonic pumpleaves millions of homes without electricity and thousands of travelers stranded at the doors of the Christmas holidays.

The phenomenon, caused by an arctic air front, will be responsible for the country living its Coldest Christmas since the 80’s.

About 10 people, so far, have died on the roads since the storm began in the states of Kansas, Oklahoma, Kentucky and Ohio.

In other places, like Chicago, Illinois, or Nashville, Tennessee, roads were clogged for hours as temperatures dropped, rain turned to ice and the wind blew into blizzards.

In Denver (Colorado) Thursday was the second coldest day since records were kept: the average temperature was 26 degrees below zero.

Transport problems also affected trains and bus companies like Greyhound, the largest of them, which has already warned that many routes in the Northeast or Midwest may be canceled or altered.

More than 1.4 million homes or offices were without electricityaccording to web records poweroutage.uswhile almost 7,000 flights had been cancelled.

Strong winter storms will affect approximately 200 million people, 60% of the country’s populationaccording to projections of the national meteorological service, the National Weather Service (NWS).

The President of the USA, Joe Bidenappeared publicly to warn Americans to take the storm “extremely seriously” and to follow the recommendations of the authorities.
