The scandal of the Italian dentist who presented himself with a fake arm to be inoculated with the Covid vaccine has taken a turn since it is now known that the doctor was finally vaccinated and not only that: he now claims that the vaccine “It is the best weapon we have against this terrible disease.”

The unusual act of Dr. Guido Russo, which he defends as a protest against the government’s mandatory vaccination order, not against the vaccination itself, It has him facing a judicial process in which he faces charges of criminal fraud.

Russo first showed up at a vaccine center in the northern city of Biella earlier this year, when a government guideline made the vaccine mandatory for doctors and nurses, But instead of lending his arm to be punctured, the dentist used an arm made of silicone.

A nurse who saw the silicone arm and reported what Russo was trying to do to his managers. The dentist acknowledged that his protest had failed and said he received a dose of the vaccine in one of his arms the next day. “Because the system forced me to do it.”

In recent days, Russo appeared on television in the Italian program La7 where he claimed that his intention was not to defraud the government or deceive anyone because it was obvious that the arm was not real. He claimed his goal was to make a personal protest against the vaccine mandates.

“I think that right now the vaccine is the only weapon we have against this terrible disease, but there should be freedom of choice”added the dentist, publicly acknowledging his support for current vaccination programs.

Russo denied that he was against vaccines and that he had not received all of his childhood vaccinations. What’s more, He reiterated that he had rebooted some of those vaccinations over the summer, including a tetanus shot.

While Italy’s vaccination rate is nearly 85% of the currently eligible population aged 12 and over, People in the age range of 30 to 59 have been shown to be the most resistant to vaccines, with nearly 3.5 million not yet receiving their first doses.

The government is expanding its vaccine mandate to other categories of workers, including law enforcement officers and teachers.
