The government of Brazil He claimed to be “concerned” with the Israeli proposal to send the Palestinians who live in the Gaza Strip to third countries, an intention that, he said, “violates the international right” and “harms” the possibilities of finding peace in the region.

This week Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvirand the head of Finance, Bezalel Smotrich, called for evicting Palestinians from Gaza; recover the territory and resettle there Israeli settlers who were evacuated from the Strip by order of their government in 2005.

“By proposing measures that constitute violations of International Law, statements of this severity deepen tensions and harm the prospects for achieving peace in the region,” says a statement released by the Brazilian Foreign Ministry.

In the note, the Foreign Ministry reiterated that Brazil defends a solution between the parties, with an “economically viable Palestinian State living side by side with Israel, in peace and security, within mutually agreed upon and internationally recognized borders.”
